Details

Since its creation in 1969, the chocolate factory has enjoyed a fabulous setting on a very special site: Margaux, in the medoc. At that time, the company's reputation was based on two specialities: Guinettes, morello cherries dipped in Armagnac with a dark chocolate coating, and chocolate sticks for the production of the famous French chocolate patisserie known as "chocolatines". Ten years had gone by when one day, a simple mechanical dysfonction occurred. One of the machines making the chocolate sticks became clogged, thus giving birth to a new twig-shaped stick. Taking their inspiration from the shoots of the nearby vines, Sarments du Médoc were born. The innovation and subsequent rapid success of Sarments du Médoc was rewarded in June 1983, when the company won the Candy Award at the Fancy Food Show in Washington DC, a prize for the best confectionery product imported into the USA. A successful product renewed 2005 sees Sarments du Médoc present its new collection. New recipies, new ingredients, new packs, new distribution channels...everything has been rethought to a position Mademoiselle de Margaux on the luxury chocolate market.
