This specially selected salmon (Salmo salar) is lightly smoked in a traditional smoking oven. Following smoking the sides of salmon are trimmed, i.e. smoked skin and bones are removed manually. The exquisite, distinctive aroma unfolds when the side of salmon is cut into thin slices. Each pack contains carving instructions and some serving suggestions, but we recommend topping the Balik salmon with just a few fresh ingredients, for example with some crème fraîche and freshly ground black pepper. Traditional and authentic, served in one piece or pre-cut, the Balik Side Trimmed makes an eye-catching addition to any table. Specially chosen from rigorously selected salmon, it is gently smoked in a wood kiln according to time-honoured Russian recipes. As a result, this remarkable salmon retains an original, exquisite aroma that is further enhanced when cut.
